HI, This store does not accept Food Lion!

They stopped accepting Target and Food Lion coupons (even though there is a Super Target less than a mile away).

    New Store Manager: Jeff Toker

I spoke with Jeff Toker (new manager) today. He called me because I had sent in an email to Publix basically complaining that they no longer accept Target coupons (since Super Target is 1 mile away). He’s a nice guy. This is actually the second time I’ve spoken with him in a month (previous time was because Customer Service Manager would not let me use BOGO Store coupon with BOGO MQ to get two items free—he agreed with me). He also agreed with me that although he got the word from corporate no more Target…he will accept the Target coupons at his store (he confirmed this with John, the DM). He told me he will make sure his staff all know this.

While I had him on the phone I brought up an issue that came up yesterday at his store regarding overage. Cashier would not give me overage and I’d been told by previous store mgr overage was fine as long as I spend it at Publix in the same transaction. They have always given me overage in the past since that discussion with the old mgr. Well, the cashier said no yesterday as did the assistant customer service manager. So I raised it with Jeff. I explained the coupon was legit (the J&J blinkie from their own store) and was a match to the band aids I was buying. He agreed the overage should be permitted as long as I spend it on other purchases in that transaction (i.e., the cashier can’t give me cash back…I have to spend the overage).

So essentially, while the store has had some issues over the recent turnover and apparent new Publix policies….all is well again at this store. No FLIPs tho, understandable since no Food Lion nearby.

Thank you for your help and *great* work, John!! They told me they no longer accept C V S $ off $$ and all RiteAids q’s. Is this correct?

  5. John says:

That is correct…they also stopped taking Food Lion Qs. They are still my fav store but I do have to watch them like a hawk when they scan my coupons….as I’ve found they always seem to miss some. The other day, they missed the $7 MQ for vivarin and the $5 zantac coupon (I was distracted for a moment). It happens so regularly with one cashier and always with the high value coupons that I am beginning to think she is not scanning them on purpose. It’s a pain but I will “reconcile” in my car after shopping to ensure they rang them all up. Nearly every time, I find some missing.

I try to bag so I can position myself in direct line of site of the coupons and the cashier’s terminal. I keep my eye on the coupons and the cashier as they scan them. As with any Publix….some seem to feel as if I am doing something wrong by getting such good deals and others are impressed. I try to avoid the store on Mondays as that seems to be when all the coupon haters are there and I always get a hassle. Sundays have some awesome cashiers.
