We love the cakes at my house and I was thrilled to see that they added some new pie varieties. I’ve already stocked up and made the Chocolate Dream Pie. I know you are surprised that I went with the chocolate first–tee hee!
If you haven’t tried these before, they may just become your go to dessert. Unlike most dessert mixes, these serve 2 – 4 people. So there’s no worry that you will have a bunch of leftovers that go to waste. My favorite part is how easy they are to make. The Chocolate Dream Pie you see above took me less than 10 minutes to prepare. I made it early in the day so it could set up in the fridge and my guys were THRILLED to get a tasty dessert after dinner.

Normally I love Duncan Hines products but the Key Lime Pie one was awful. I was so disappointed. I followed the directions exactly and it was terrible. I ended up throwing it away. I don’t know if I got a bad mix or what the problem was. This is the first time I bought something from them and didn’t like it.
I bought the Duncan Hines® Perfect Size™ Chocolate Lover’s Cake and it wasn’t very good . It wasn’t terrible but I won’t be buying it again . I’ll stick to their regular cake mixes. And I just bought the new pies one of each hoping they would be better than the cake but haven’t tried them yet.
I can’t comment on how they tasted because I didn’t end up trying them – had plans to buy six of them with the great coupons, but ended up leaving them on the shelf for someone else to use. Having to buy & use 2 cups of whole cream for one and a 8 oz of cream cheese for another I felt would negate my savings.
