Try Me Tuesday – Publix Peanut Butter

publix peanut butterWelcome to this week’s Try Me Tuesday. Each week I will grab a new set of products and test them out. I’ll put the Publix brand up against a national brand product and report back.

I know many times I struggle with what brand to choose. Often a sale or a coupon/sale combination make that an easier decision…but what about those times when you need an item and there is not a sale? Do you grab the house brand or pay more and get the national brand? More importantly, is there really a difference in taste?

Publix – 0
Jif – 4

Well guys I have some picky peanut butter eaters. Everyone at my house chose the Jif as the winner this week. I was the only one who wavered a bit. I had a hard time picking a favorite as they tasted very similar to me. Ultimately I did end up picking the Jif but I would have been just as happy with the Publix brand.

There are so many brands of peanut butter I had to just choose one. Had I picked another there might have been a different outcome. I will tell you that my guys all time favorite peanut butter is Peter Pan Honey Roasted. They love it and it’s what I keep in stock at my house but I figured for the taste test, I’d go with basic PB.

As you can see the Publix brand wins the price comparison but the Jif wins the taste comparison at my house.

So have you guys done a taste test with the Publix peanut butter? Which was your favorite?
