We’ve been answering questions for Ask I Heart Publix for over three years now, and we’ve definitely found that some questions keep popping up as new couponers write in. So every month we’re going to feature a “Best Of” Ask I Heart Publix, where we post some of our favorite questions and answers from past weeks, months, and years.
Don’t worry….we’ll still be answering the new questions you guys send in, too, so keep sending in those questions! Just remember if we didn’t get to your question this week…we will do our best to cover it another week!!

Here are this week’s “Best of” questions:
- What do I do if a Digital Coupon comes off my total when I’ve already used a paper coupon for the same item?
- Why can’t I load a Upromise One or Many Offer that is still valid to my card?
- Can I do a Upromise One or Many Offer twice and get two deposits?
- For rebates – am I limited to one per address- or one per person per address?
- What’s the deal with the Hopster coupons I see in the weekly matchups?
And here are the answers!
1. Jenn wants to know: When I was checking over my receipt this past weekend, I noticed that a Publix Digital Coupon came off my total and I had already used a paper coupon for that same item. I know that you’re not supposed to be able to use paper and digital coupons for the same item. Is there any way to fix this with my customer service desk?
Christy: I’ve noticed this happen from time to time too. I think the system just gets “confused” sometimes even though it’s not supposed to. You might want to just take your receipt in to your Customer Service Desk and ask if there is anything you should do to let them know when this happens…but I think it is just a random glitch that hopefully they will work out.
Michelle: I noticed it recently too. I am actually kinda glad to hear that I am not the only one. Mine was a doozy as I got an extra $5 with the B2G1 Digiorno coupon/digital coupon. I thought maybe the register got confused as it was a multiple purchase coupon. I had thought to talk to my store to see if they had any insight on this issue. Have you guys noticed that it’s a particular type of coupon?
Christy: I’ve noticed that that has happened for a few of the Upromise One or Many offers. I would assume that Upromise has a limit on the number of offers that can be redeemed – so once that number of users have loaded the offer to their Upromise accounts, the offer is “gone” even though it’s not expired.
Michelle: Yep, I would think that they pull it once their limit has been reached. I try to list as many of the coupons and offers as possible. If you see something that strikes your fancy, load it while you can. I always load all of the Upromise offers…you never know when a deal might pop up. It’s also easier for me to do it all at once rather than try to remember to go back to the Upromise site several times a month.
3. Jesse wants to know: I have a question about Upromise One or Many offers. If the offer is a $5 deposit when I spend $20 on a particular brand, I’m wondering….can I can get a $10 deposit if I spend $40 on that brand?
Christy: Unfortunately, no. One or Many offers are limited to one per person, so you can only get a single deposit when you buy the required item. Always remember to have your cashier scan your Publix Upromise card at checkout so that you get credit for your purchases!
Michelle: That would be nice wouldn’t it. Like Christy said you are limited per person…but there is nothing saying that your significant other can’t get in on the deal too
4. Carly wants to know: I have a question about rebates. If I want to submit a rebate for P&G am I limited to one per address- or one per person per address? Basically – could I put my fiance’s name on the 2nd form and use our one address? I know I can only have one rebate per envelope.
Michelle: This will vary and you’ll need to check the details in the fine print on the form. They will usually specify the redemption requirements and specifics. Usually there is also a number or website where you can contact them for help.
For those rebates that are one per address…I have been known to send out extra rebates and surprise my family members with an unexpected perk. If I am buying the items, someone might as well benefit.
Christy:For the most part, rebates are one per household…I can’t think of many recent rebates that allowed me to do more than one deal. However, as Michelle says, the fine print (or the customer service number) will tell you for sure if you can send in more than one per address. And if you can’t submit your purchases for the rebate for your household, then Michelle is right – why not surprise a family member with a little gift card or check?
5. Lori wants to know: I haven’t used Hopster coupons before. Are they different from other types of printables? I can’t keep up with all the coupon options
Christy: Michelle posted about how Hopster coupons work over here. I don’t know about you, but I’ll take all the coupon options they’ll give us!
Michelle: Yep–I mentioned them a while back and they now have an iframe that I was able to put on the site so you guys can access the coupons right here whenever you need them. Like all the other printable coupons, all you have to do is hover over the PRINTABLE COUPONS tab in the navigation bar at the top of the site and choose which coupon option you want. Just grab what you need while making your grocery list – easy breezy!
