  1. Mary Lu Scott says

I wanted to express my sincerest thanks to a remarkable Publix employee by the name of “Jake” (don’t know his last name). I frequent several Publix stores in the Tallahassee area despite the fact that I reside approx. 60 miles from the nearest one. I must get my Publix “fix”……cannot live without it! Last evening before dark, I headed into the Publix store located @ Village Square (3521 Thomasville Road. It had been raining for days but had slacked off a bit as I parked and entered the store. As I was checking out, it began to storm and just as “Ben” was handing me my grocery receipt, the lights went out. I typically take my own groceries to the car but on this particular day the young man that was bagging my groceries for me (“Zack”) asked if he could help me. He said he would be happy to take them out, wait with them while I went and got my car and could pull up to the curb where he would load them for me. I really didn’t want to bother him but he insisted and I agreed. He and another young Publix employee pried the automatic doors open for some of us (necessary with no electricity). He suggested that I wait to make sure no lightening was present (we had heard a loud bang as we headed out of the store that sounded like transformers blowing)before going to my car. He was a godsend and I was touched by his kindness. He is a real gem.

    Sincerely, Mary Lu Scott

Mary Lu It would probably mean the world to this young man if you went to and under contact send them this exact email. I believe Publix recognizes their employees when they are mentioned by name in an email.

Thanks for the heads up renae. I’ve been telling it to the FB page. So glad you sent me in the right direction. ty
